She holds a PhD in Higher Education from the University of North Texas. With over 20 years of experience in the field of education and 10 years of involvement with the HWNT organization, Dr. Olivarez brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role. She is a passionate advocate for higher education, a professor, and an entrepreneur who leads with heart, purpose, and a deep belief in collective power. Committed to equity, empowerment, and community impact, she brings a people-centered, culturally responsive approach to leadership, blending strategic thinking with genuine human connection. Laura currently works for Texas Health and holds a masters degree in healthcare administration from Louisiana State University at Shreveport. Laura's passion for advocacy and education is evident through her involvement in the Latinas in Progress program and in the Educational Committee.   ### Membership HWNT offers four membership levels: $1,000 Lifetime Membership - Quarterly payment options are available. $75 Regular Membership is a rolling forward 365 calendar year and must be renewed annually. $50 Retiree Membership is a rolling forward 365 calendar year and must be renewed annually. $35 Student Membership – Students of all grade levels are welcome to join.
